Mural in Boston Children’s Hospital by artists Caleb Neelon and Souther Salazar

I struggled to find the exact picture I needed for this post, but I searched and searched, but it only can be in my memory, for now. Instead I found a piece of art with the same idea. It is bright and busy; it has a lot going on with a lot of different images to look at. This reminds me of Nursing because it goes back to my roots of what sparked my heart to pursue Nursing. When I was younger I was in and out of the hospital for a vein disorder that I have in my left leg. My nurses who cared for me at Boston Children’s Hospital are who inspired me to pursue this career. While I was there and had down time, my favorite thing to do was look at all the artwork in the hallways. This one particular wall, right off the elevator had this piece of artwork that was 3D and textured, it was similar to a word search/scavenger hunt, but with pictures and physical objects! I sat in front of this piece of art until I was called by my mom or my doctor. Artwork in the hallways of hospitals is a beautiful distraction and a calming mechanism.
