Hi! Im Nicole and currently a senior college student at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, studying Public Health. Although I go to school here, I live in a small city of Newburyport, Massachusetts about an hour away. Newburyport is right on the water and so is UNE, so not much has changed. Oddly enough, the ocean isn’t my favorite, but don’t get me wrong, I do love the view. I always find myself right at the ocean waves when I’m feeling stressed, anxious, thankful, when I have a lot on my mind, or when I am having an extremely good day.

Ever since I was a young girl, I’ve been on the move. I have been intrigued with traveling and experiencing new places and people. Personally, the mountains are my favorite, I feel the most connected with myself and this earth. I find it so beautiful how we are such a small part of this earth and there is so much to discover and learn. With having this passion in my heart, it led me to travel abroad for a semester. I lived in Sevilla, Spain with the most amazing host family and had the time of my life. Even though I love going places, I am also a home body at heart and always find comfort in the home wherever my Mom is. I also believe once you travel you also have to return to the place where you started to prove to yourself your growth and to remember your roots.

Growing up through elementary, middle, and high school, I was taught that learning is important for the development of our brains and to help it grow and remain healthy. I also learned that going to school and being able to be taught and exposed to new ideas was and is a great privilege. School for me has had its ups and downs, like most people, but I’m starting to love it. It is crazy to me. I’m excited to finally enjoy going to classes and learning new material that is all related to what my future is going to be surrounded in!
